This smoothie is also a non-dairy drink and uses coconut water instead of milk. Coconut water contains antioxidants and electrolytes that give the skin a hydrating and glowing beauty boost.
Green Power Protein Smoothie Ingredients
Spinach and Kale – Loaded with antioxidants, Vitamin B, and fibre. Such a quick and easy way to get these important superfoods into your diet. Tip: You can freeze a bag of greens and then you’ll always have them readily available to toss in your green smoothies.
Frozen Banana – Bananas sweeten the smoothie and make it thick and creamy. Tip: When the banana gets ripe, peel it, put in a plastic freezer bag, and store in the freezer.
Almond Butter – Adds healthy fat, makes smoothie creamier, and adds a delicious nutty flavour.
Coconut Water – Naturally sweet and contains an abundance of vitamins and minerals. Also contains electrolytes that can boost hydration.
Vanilla Protein Powder – For that added boost of protein and flavour.
Add-ins
Collagen – Collagen is a protein that provides structure, strength, and support throughout the body. Many people take collagen supplements because collagen naturally decreases as we age.
Smoking, sugar, and ultraviolet light can damage collagen even more. Collagen supplements can help give back that support and strength in both the skin and joints.
I am currently taking enhanced collagen by Organika and I love that it has very little flavour, which is perfect when adding to smoothies. Many collagen supplements are artificially sweetened.

Chlorophyll – Another boost of green goodness.
Seeds – Chia or flax seeds add fibre and Omega 3 essential fatty acids.
Tips for Your Best Smoothie
Use half a banana if you want to decrease the calories and sweetness. Use a frozen banana if you can. If not, throw a couple ice cubes in the blender to make the smoothie thick and cold.
If you find the smoothie a bit thick, add a little extra coconut water.
If you don’t want to use bananas, add 1/3 avocado.

Blend
My favourite blender is the Vitamix. Although it is pricier than other options, the quality is worth it. I’ve had my blender for 15 years and it still works perfectly. Plus the Vitamix can blend ingredients, like seeds, completely and can make soups and ice cream! This Vitamix sold on Amazon starts at a lower price point and goes up in price based on added features.
Of course there are many blenders at a lower price point that work perfectly fine for making smoothies.
